🐍The new Mullum Gateway - a really worthwhile project...

Richard Mordant and his team have been working for several years to complete the refurbishment of the new Mullumbimby Gateway which will welcome people to Mullumbimby.

The 15 metre tall Totem is now installed and looks terrific but they urgently need funds to complete the landscaping, pathways and maintenance of the totem so that it continues to looks good for years to come.

Please watch their excellent Vimeo and consider making a tax deductible donation by going to www.mullumbimbygateway.com where you will find a donation button on the bottom of the Home Page. All donations large and small will help them complete this important addition to who we are as a community.

💫Sadly @lovepolice touring announce the inevitable cancellation of the @eilen_jewell tour, and therefor our show in Mullumbimby in November as well. All tickets will be refunded shortly.

Some beautiful words from Eilen to follow...

“Dear good folks of Australia and New Zealand,

It saddens me to have to say this, but I simply can’t return to your beautiful countries this year after all. As many of you may know, our tour that was scheduled for March had to be postponed until November due to the global pandemic that has taken over life as we know it. Now it happens that our November tour has to be cancelled as well. The world just doesn’t have a grip on this virus the way we all hoped we would by now. This pains me more than I can say. I worry for the future of independent venues, artists, agents and touring companies the world over. I worry about music lovers everywhere and my fellow humans in general. And, quite simply, I miss your lovely faces. I miss seeing you. But I know that, when the time is right and it’s safe to do so, we will make the journey to you, and the reunion will be that much sweeter after all this time apart. In the
meantime, stay healthy, stay safe and try to keep your chin up. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Remember, we’re all in this together.

Much love and gratitude,
—Eilen”

The bushfire crisis of 2019-20 killed over 1 billion native animals. Whole populations were decimated, often because specialist wildlife rescue and medical care facilities were not able to get to the priority areas.

A team of Australian vets plan to create Australia’s largest mobile wildlife hospital dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation of injured native Australian wildlife. It’s
going to be based in Byron Bay, and be able to go to injured wildlife during a crisis like a bushfire.

Through crowdfunding, they’ve raised $355,000 of the $520,000 needed to build, staff and operate the Mobile Wildlife Hospital, but need your help to get to their target.

You can make a tax deductible donation to their crowdfund campaign at www.chuffed.org/wildlifehospital and learn more via their website www.byronbaywildlifehospital.org

**ANNOUNCEMENT - MILK CARTON KIDS SHOW CANCELLED**

Due to ongoing restrictions, we have sadly been forced to cancel this tour. Kenneth and Joey desperately want to come back to Australia and will do so as soon as they can, but with such uncertainly with venues in the near future, it’s best we cancel this tour at this time. You will be refunded by your ticketing agency in due course.

"Australia and New Zealand - we WILL come see you but not this year.. Put your masks on and sit tight until then, it’ll be worth the wait." - KENNETH & JOEY (The Milk Carton) Kids

*Red Square Music will arrange refunds for the Mullumbimby Shows shortly.

💔2020 Bello Winter Music festival cancelled.

Due to the evolving situation with the Covoid19 pandemic and current restrictions on gatherings, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of our 6th Bello Winter Music Festival, which was to take place 9-12 July 2020 throughout the NSW Mid North Coast town of Bellingen.

Ticket holders will be contacted and refunded.

“We are so disappointed for the artists, the workers, the ticket holders and the town of Bellingen. Unfortunately we can’t see any way around the cancelation, We did look at the option of postponing but decided that promoting an event in the current health emergency, with no clear end in sight, was not possible in our situation,” said Festival Director Glenn Wright.

Red Square Music would like to thank all of our venues, artists announced so far, staff, our loyal patrons, ticket buyers and the community of the Bellingen Shire for their ongoing support, and we look forward to presenting our 6th event in 2022, after the planned refurbishments of the Memorial Hall precinct.

Please stay tuned for updates and further information on our socials pages and website www.bellowintermusic.com

We wish everybody well during these uncertain times.
