Byron is the main town in Byron Shire, a generous lush green habitat with pockets of small village style rural towns, agriculture, mountains, rivers and long sandy surf beach coastline as it hugs around it’s famous ocean bay where dolphins and whales are seen playing as they migrate up and down the South Eastern Pacific Ocean. The lighthouse at Cape Byron is iconic for the ever fresh thrill of natures contrasts where sky, land and ocean meet.

Cultivating community and well being in Ocean Shores by creating a playscape at Waterlily Park . Waterlily Community Playscape group was established by local volunteers to build a playground area by the community at Waterlily Park, in Ocean Shores, NSW, Australia. Since May 2015, the group has been meeting regularly to progress the project.After launching phase 1 of the project which included installing a playground, we are now entering the second phase of the project: additional equipment (shade sails, flying fox, a tree house and a fairy chair). This initiative is getting growing attention from many local residents, councillors and local organisations. The Byron2Bruns Beach Run is a 5km & 10km run from Belongil Creek (just north of Byron Bay) to the Brunswick Surf Life Saving Club in Brunswick Heads, NSW. FREE shuttle buses provided by BVC take runners from Brunswick Heads SLSC to the starting line at Belongil with the race starting at 8.30am. DO NOT GO DIRECTLY TO START LINE. See Race Day Event schedule All money raised from the event goes towards the Brunswick Surf Life Saving Club. The Brunswick SLSC is responsible for patrolling the area from the Belongil Creek mouth in the south to the surf beaches of New Brighton and South Golden Beach to the north on weekends and public holidays from September to April each year.
